Short poems are what I do. So I whipped up this little shawty for the Poetry Slam over at Black Woman Lost & Found, where you're prompted to either write a poem based on a selected picture or word. Today's slam word was FEAR. Here's what I came up with:

Every time you left me,
And then dared to
Return
Hmmm....this can go in so many different directions. I'm thinking of expanding on this one. I'll be sure to let you know when I do ;)

Girl, when I read your piece on the slam, even in the brief offering in words i felt it, i know that feeling all too well, story of my life.
